Itinerary

Day 1: Cairo / El Alamien / Alexandria
Turzilla Trips guide will meet you at the hotel in Cairo, drive North-west toward the Mediterranean coastline, to the World War II cemeteries of El Alamein. In 1942 the Allies under Britain’s field Marshal Montgomery halted the German-Italian advance towards the River Nile. Through the arches and beyond the gardens, 7,000 white headstones commemorate the Australian, New Zealand and British soldiers who fought and died. Stopping for a light lunch in route, continue onward to the cosmopolitan city of Alexandria Rest of day will be free at leisure Overnight at the hotel in Alexandria Meal: Lunch
Day 2: Alexandria sightseeing / Cairo
Breakfast at the hotel, explore the ancient Kom al-Shoqafa catacombs. The vast network of staircases, passages and tombs are thought to form the largest Roman burial site in Egypt, and was only unearthed in the beginning of the 20th century when a donkey disappeared under the ground. The next stop is at Pompey’s Pillar, a monolithic red granite column standing 28 metres tall Lunch in local restaurant serving Sea food and International cuisine After lunch, visit the exterior of the Citadel of Qaitbay, a massive 15th century defense fort built on the northern tip of Pharos Island, continue to the new Library of Alexandria (Bibliotheca Alexandrina), one of the major cultural center In Egypt located on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea Return to your hotel Meal: Breakfast, Lunch
